Terms of Service
Effective 6 October 2026
- You must be 18 or older to use Tailrd.
- Your resume and content stay yours.
- AI suggestions can be wrong. Check everything before you send it, and only claim experience you really have.
- You use your own AI API key and follow that provider’s terms. Any charges on the key are yours.
- The app is provided as is, and we can’t promise it will get you a job.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and the creator of Tailrd, formerly called Resume Tailor (“we”, “us”), the web app at tailrd.web.app. By signing in or using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You sign in with a Google account and are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping that Google account secure.
3. The service
Tailrd helps you compare your resume with a job description, see a fit score and missing keywords, answer gap questions, create a tailored resume, download it as a PDF, and track your applications. The app is currently free. We may add, change or remove features, or introduce paid plans. We’ll tell you before any change that means you would have to pay.
Voluntary support. You can choose to support the app with a tip through Buy Me a Coffee. Tips are entirely optional, are not a purchase, don’t unlock any features, and aren’t refundable through us. Payments are handled by Buy Me a Coffee under its own terms.
4. Your AI provider and API key
- To use the AI features you add your own API key from Google (Gemini API) or Anthropic (Claude API). Your use of that key is covered by your agreement with that provider, and you must follow their terms and usage policies.
- You are responsible for any charges, quotas or limits on your key. We are not responsible for costs your provider bills you.
- When you use an AI feature, your resume, the job description and your answers are sent from your browser to that provider. See section 3 of the Privacy Policy for how this works and how your key is stored.
- Only add a key you are allowed to use. You can remove it from Settings at any time.
5. Your content
You own the resumes, job descriptions, answers and other content you put into the app, and the tailored resumes created for you. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to run the app for you, and to send it to the AI provider you choose when you ask. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You confirm that you have the right to use the content you add. Don’t upload other people’s personal data without their permission.
6. AI output and honesty
- AI-generated suggestions, scores and resumes can be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. Fit scores are estimates, not a measure of how employers or applicant tracking systems will rank you.
- Review and edit everything before you use it. You are responsible for what you submit to employers.
- Only include skills, experience and qualifications you really have. Don’t use the app to create false or misleading claims.
- We don’t guarantee interviews, job offers or any other outcome.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t use Tailrd to:
- break any law, or infringe anyone’s rights, including privacy and intellectual property;
- create fake identities or fraudulent documents;
- access other users’ data, probe or attack the app or its infrastructure, or get around its security rules;
- overload the service or scrape it with automated tools; or
- resell or repackage the app without our written permission.
8. Our content
The app’s design, code, name and logo belong to its creator. You may use the app for your own job search. These terms don’t give you any other rights to them.
9. Availability and changes
We try to keep the app running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. The app relies on third-party services (Google Firebase, Google Gemini, Anthropic) that may change or stop working. Keep your own copies of important documents. You can download everything from Settings.
10. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
11. Limit of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including lost job opportunities, lost income or lost data, or for charges made by your AI provider. Our total liability to you for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid us to use it in the 12 months before the claim, which is zero while the app is free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account and data from Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you first.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of India, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the effective date above, and for significant changes we’ll show a notice in the app first. If you keep using the app after changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
